About the Event

With thanks to a generous grant, Congregation Beth Israel and Prisma Health Systems will be offering the USA Mental Health First Aid Class ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!

This course is appropriate for anyone 18 years and older. While there is much crossover in dealing with adults and youth in crisis, we will be offering the Youth Mental Health First Aid. This course is designed to teach how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

Once again, this course and all related materials are being offered COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE, but you MUST REGISTER so we can order enough course books.

The class will be broken into two sections and held at:

Congregation Beth Israel.

May 26th and June 2nd at 2:30pm.

Please register here.
