Musical Kabbalat Shabbat

Instrumental Kabbalat Shabbat - 4th Friday of Every Other Month

The Psalm for Shabbat says "it is good to thank God."  We’re told to make a joyful noise and proclaim God’s love and faithfulness, to “finger the lute, pluck the harp, and let the sound of the lyre rise up.” (Psalm 92:4)

Shabbat is a time for celebrating love, community, rest and fellowship.  What better way to do so than with great food and great song?

We begin with a vegetarian/dairy potluck community dinner.  Immediately following, Rabbi Marko leads a group of talented singers and musicians in the “Seeing Sounds” Shabbat band. The music is powerful and moving, and the community spirit is off the chart.

While there is no need to bring anything but yourselves and your spirits of joy, if you are able to contribute a dish to the pot luck, please contact the office to let us know. In either case, please rsvp so we can keep an accurate count and ensure there is more than enough food for everyone.
