2010 Shabbaton

Congregation Beth Israel is a warm, caring group of about 140 families. We are affiliated with the United Synagogues of Conservative Judaism, and we use the traditional Sim Shalom Siddur for our Friday evening and Shabbat morning services.

All ages are represented within our membership, from couples with young children or teenagers, to single adults and retirees.

Congregation Beth Israel welcomes interfaith couples and wants them to play an active role in all activities of the congregation. Our congregational family encourages the non-Jewish partner to participate in religious services and auxiliary organizations of the congregation, such as the Men’s Club and the Sisterhood.

While many of our members are long-time congregants and residents of Greenville, numerous others are relatively new additions to this area and to our congregational family. We greet with enthusiasm the infusion of new individuals and families, who can contribute their unique perspectives and creative ideas to benefit us all, and we look forward to welcoming YOU.

Rabbi Julie Kozlow
Rabbi Kolzow is a traditional visionary. She teaches that the way into the future is through serious study of the wisdom of the past. Her rabbinic style is uniquely her own and grounded in the ancient teachings of Judaism. Becoming a rabbi for Rabbi Kozlow was much more about responding to a “call” then it was a career choice. Creating sacred community built on the high ideals of Jewish tradition is the inspiration that drives her rabbinate.
