Shalom Y'all & Welcome
IMPORTANT!!!
During the current crisis, our office remains active and our rabbi is available for your pastoral needs by phone and video conferencing ONLY.
Update 4-8-21:
We have resumed our In-Person Tent/Streaming hybrid model for Saturday morning services.
You are welcome to join us Shabbat mornings at 10:00am IN-PERSON under our tent with social distance and other safety protocols. MASKS REQUIRED. Feel free to dress for comfort though. Shorts are fine. Think summer camp.
Service will be at the regular time of 10:00 am.
If you plan on joining in person, PLEASE ARRIVE 5-10 MINUTES EARLY so we can work out spacing and other safety considerations.
BRING YOUR OWN SIDDUR AND HUMASH if you are able.
Friday evening services, classes and pastoral meetings remain online only through Zoom.
Contact the office for login information.
Thank you for your understanding.
BE RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE, RIGHT HERE.
Where are you?
Everyone is somewhere on a path...and on a path to somewhere. Where ever you are, you are welcome with us.
Who are we?
We are Congregation Beth Israel, serving the Greenville Jewish community for over 100 years.
We embrace the idea of meeting people “where they are,” offering a safe and encouraging environment regardless of age, gender, socio-economic status, race, level of education, family structure, interfaith union, or sexual identification and orientation. All who seek may come to find their voice in prayer and thankfulness for the blessings of life.
Proud members of USCJ (The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism), we are here to meet the spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs of modern Jews, while remaining true to the traditional roots of our faith.
We practice a robust and authentic Judaism emphasizing music, food, spirit, Jewish ethics, education, and egalitarianism; respecting tradition but remaining open to new thoughts and ideas.
We strive to provide for our congregational family at every stage of the Jewish life-cycle: from baby naming, to religious school and b’nai mitzvah training, and through interactive services and adult education programming.
We stand in solidarity with the State of Israel and the people Israel.
And we are committed to the ideals of Tikkun Olam – working together to improve our community and the world around us.
